"Students' personal development is outstanding"

Ofsted 2008

Each student is assigned to a Student Progress Leader who oversees his or her academic progress. The Sixth Form team plays a major role in the personal, social and spiritual development of every student helping to prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experience of life in Higher Education and employment.

Beyond the formal curriculum there are numerous opportunities for students to be involved in a broad range of activities including overseas expeditions and exchanges, fundraising events, a wide variety of sports and the mentoring of younger pupils. Students also have the opportunity to contribute to the running of the Sixth Form as prefects and Students Managers and through an elected Common Room Committee. Sixth Form also has representatives on the School Council, the Sports College Management Committee and the committee for Healthy Schools' Initiative and students are actively involved in all aspects of school life with opportunities for demonstrating leadership and initiative.

"Sixth Form students show excellent personal qualities: they are confident, sensible and articulate adults who enjoy schools and relish their additional responsibilities."
